DURAL Premium Movement Joint IN STAINLESS STEEL

2.5 metre length

This expansion joint is suitable for ceramics, slate and natural stone.  Available in steel, brass and aluminium, this expansion joint is designed and manufactured to exceed the requirements of BS 5385.  Using the latest technology to produce accomodation joints that allow the designer and contractor total confidence in the performance of the profile.

1. For floor areas in excess of 2x2m where tiling abuts walls or restraining features, the use of a perimeter joint is recommended. (Please call for more information).

2. Any existing movement joints in the sub floor must be carried through to the tiled surface.  This is advisable where crack inducers or other stress relieving devices are present.  A movement joint should also be located where a change in substrate occurs.

3. Taking points 1 and 2 into account, the resulting fields should be as square as possible.  The ratio of the length of the sides should not exceed 2:1.  The exception to this is when tiling areas such as corridors.  Intermediate joints should be no further apart than 10m.

4. The correct size of movement joint should allow for the thickness of the tile and adhesive bed.  The surface of the profile must not protrude above the tiled surface.
